3. What is your role in the project?

Test ZERO emission truck on real life operations

4. What are the main challenges the heavy-duty vehicle industry is facing?

Competitiveness with traditional solutions based on diesel engine is the main challenge the transaction to ZERO emission vehicle is facing right now. High costs for deploying the technology and the performances are still away from traditional solutions, however research activities are fundamental to test the technology and demonstrate the performance and made effective the roll-out of ZERO emissions trucks into the market.

5. How is EMPOWER project responding to these challenges?

The project is a fundamental step to demonstrate te technology is flexible, reliable and represent and effective solution for the next generation of truck.

6. What research are you conducting at your Institution and how is it applied in the EMPOWER project?

Gruber Logistics is deeply involved in the development of ZERO emission truck, especially for identifying the best business case and test the performance of new ZERO emission technologies. The EMPOWER project is a wonderful opportunity to test new prototypes on real life missions

7. How do you collaborate with other partners in the EMPOWER project to achieve your goals?

Gruber Logistics is involved in the definition of vehicle design and characteristics, especially with the vehicle manufacturer, but also is supporting all the technical partners to identity the most challenging research topics to made effective the solution of ZERO emissions truck

8. How is your institution benefiting from participating in the EMPOWER project?

Testing the vehicle on real-life missions and demonstrate to our customers the feasibility to deploy ZERO emissions technology in an effective and reliable way is the major benefit we have thanks to EMPOWER project

9. How do you envision the results of EMPOWER contributing to a more sustainable world?

Fostering the introduction of ZERO emissions technologies to one of the most relevant hard-to-abate sector

10. Looking to the future, what impact do you think the EMPOWER project will have on the industry and society as a whole?

Demonstrate the competitiveness of ZERO emissions technologies
